John Stossel on FOX News in early June 2012 said America is a better place to live than in the good old days.
Ending a speech with God bless America can no longer be tossed around so easily by our eager politicians, remembering the Bible's warning about the arrogance of the tongue. Instead of assuming God blesses America, a prayer needs to be said instead with bowed head on bended knee for God to forgive America. However, that will be hard to do in many places in this country where the membership of the ACLU has now worked very hard to make that act illegal on government property or in the public's schools, the organization hoping with great pride to even throw citizens in jail who would dare to pray.

          1. Gender-Based Abortions - STILL Legal in U.S. AFTER Congress Votes:

"It is a tragedy of epic proportion that the United States is the only industrialized nation of the world that does not restrict abortions that are performed solely because of the gender of a child.  It’s equally alarming that the largest abortion provider in the world is actively opposing legislation that would right this wrong, even as they are repeatedly caught on tape participating in abortions that are chosen because the baby is the ‘wrong” gender.
Today, this grievous situation took another shocking turn, as 168 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives actually chose to stand on the side of legal protections for those who would end the life of a baby with full knowledge that the only reason for doing so is that the baby is a little girl.  That is not a typo -- 168 Members of Congress actually went to the Floor of the U.S. House today and opposed H.R. 3541, the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA).    These 168 votes, while a minority of votes cast, were enough to deny the 2/3 required for passage of the bill.
Without a doubt, the motivation behind these 168 votes is varied, and includes ideological, procedural and political reasons.  But this much is clear: these 168 votes have ensured that the United States will lag behind on this important issue for at least a while longer.  They have ensured that not only can Americans continue to discriminate against late-term baby girls, but also that the U.S. will continue to be a “tourist destination” for these gender-based abortions." . . . 2. President Obama: The Abortion President:

"Planned Parenthood vigorously opposed the ban and as we have reported, an exposé by Live Action, revealed a Planned Parenthood worker caught on tape encouraging sex-selection abortion.
Then the White House weighed in. President Obama standing up for Planned Parenthood with the White House releasing a statement on his opposition to this life-saving measure: "The Administration opposes gender discrimination in all forms, but the end result of this legislation would be to subject doctors to criminal prosecution if they fail to determine the motivations behind a very personal and private decision. The government should not intrude in medical decisions or private family matters in this way."
Music to the ears of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider." . . . Read More

          3. Challenging the Mandate: Not Just for Catholics:

"Last week, twelve lawsuits involving forty-three Catholic schools, dioceses, and charities were filed in federal courts across the country. These suits challenge the HHS abortifacient-sterilization-contraception mandate and its unconstitutional coercion of conscience.
One might be tempted to think the pending challenges to the HHS mandate, including those filed last week and the ACLJ case on behalf of a Catholic business owner, constitute a Catholic issue only.
          Not true.
Soon after HHS Secretary Sebelius announced in January that the mandate would go into effect, individuals and groups of various religious denominations and persuasions joined hands in calling the rule a violation of religious civil liberties.
In February, 2,500 Protestant, evangelical, Jewish, Catholic and other religious leaders signed a letter to President Obama denouncing the mandate as 'a severe blow to our religious liberty.'  Together, they called upon the administration to 'reverse this decision and protect the conscience rights of those who have biblically-based opposition to funding or providing contraceptives and abortifacients.'" . . . 4. United States: Tourist Destination for Sex-Based Abortions?:

"In the United States, we take pride in our role as a leader in the world on a wide array of human rights issues. We profess to set the standard on the preservation of fundamental human rights. And generally speaking, we back that profession up with action. On most issues, the United States’ beacon of freedom shines bright and attracts countless who are fleeing oppression and human rights violations to our shores.
There is at least one human rights issue, however, where the United States lags far behind, and on which we are attracting visitors for all the wrong reasons. It is the issue of elective abortions for no other reason than the baby is of the 'wrong' gender. While most of the industrialized world outlaws elective abortion based on this factor, the United States does not. The result of this failure is that we now find ourselves not only allowing these barbaric acts within our own population, but also as the international destination of choice for those who seek to end the life of a child that is unwanted simply because of the gender of the baby. We are becoming a tourist destination for these acts that are criminal in most of the civilized world." . . . Read More

          5. Planned Parenthood’s War on Women Backfires:

"Planned Parenthood has been trying to create the 'War on Women' for so long that they have now pushed themselves into an uncomfortable position.
Not only have they been caught encouraging the abortion of baby girls just because of their sex, but now their attempt to spin their way out of this uncomfortable spotlight is causing them to speak out of both side of their corporate mouth.
In reaction to Live Action’s exposé, Planned Parenthood immediately reacted by firing the first Planned Parenthood worker caught on tape encouraging sex-selection abortion. The abortion giant responded to The Daily Caller, Huffington Post, and others claiming to oppose sex-selection abortions.
But what they said next is telling, 'all staff members at this affiliate were immediately scheduled for retraining in managing unusual patient encounters.' Planned Parenthood didn’t train their staff to counsel people away from gender selection; they trained them on how to spot an undercover investigator." . . . Read More
