Joseph
(Joe) Smith started his day early after turning off his alarm
clock (MADE IN JAPAN)
that had
been set for 6 a.m.
While
his electric coffeepot (MADE
IN CHINA) was
perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN
HONG KONG.) He
then put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA),
a pair of
designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE), and
new tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA.)
After
cooking breakfast in his new electric skillet
(MADE IN INDIA), Joe
sat down with his electronic calculator (MADE IN MEXICO)
to see how
much money was in his budget for the day's activity.
After
checking his watch (MADE
IN TAIWAN) and
setting to the time given on his radio (MADE IN INDIA),
he jumped
into his foreign car (MADE IN GERMANY) and
continued his daily search for a good paying job where he lived
in Columbus, Ohio.
Eight
hours later and at the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless
day, Joe decided to relax on his special couch (MADE IN SWEDEN),
slipped on his comfortable sandals (MADE
IN BRAZIL), poured
himself a cool glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE),
and turned
on his flat-screen television (MADE IN INDONESIA)
. . . and
then pondered over the rest of the evening why he couldn't find
a good paying job.
So
here's a message for good old Joe.
